Top Models - Lara Stone

She was born in December of 1983, in a small village just outside Berlin to a Dutch mother & English father, and was raised in the town of Mierlo in the Netherlands. At the age of 15 she entered the Elite Model Look contest; even though she did not win she was offered a contract with Elite. A year later, after getting expelled from high school she was sent by her mother to Paris, but far from becoming a sensation Lara's career did not take off, almost causing her to give up.

It was only until 2006 when her friend convinced her to try applying to a different modeling agency, when she was signed by IMG and soon after she opened the Givenchy Haute Couture show in Paris and became a fashion frontrunner ever since; strutting down the runways of the biggest names in fashion such as: Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Valentino and much more.

Lara also became a first face to many designers, opening 9 shows in the fall/winter '07-'08 season; appeared in major ad campaigns for the likes of: Absolutely Givenchy fragrance, Just Cavalli jewels etc. she has graced several magazine covers and many editorial spreads in the British, Italian & French Vogue (even channeling Bridget Bardot in March 2007 editorial spread in French Vogue).

Her distinctive trade marks are the gap between her front teeth and her unsteady runway walk, she was named the "anti-model" by Cathy Horn in her "On the Runway" blog, but Lara continues to be one of the sought-after young models of today.

Congratulations Lara Stone, you have still many work to do in catwalks, because you are really good, i hope that Ant onia Garr will appear in the top so soon.
